I recently made a travel booking error which resulted in missing our flight from Munich to Lithuania. Big oops, but hey it happens! I came across the nearby Hotel Ibis and it lined up with all that one would require for an overnight layover near the airport.
I made the booking, but was not charged a prepayment (which was a blessing given that this was not a planned for stay!) until we arrived which was when we paid for the room rate and we added breakfast as well as paid for our airport transfer. Check in was super efficient which is just what one needs after a long flight.
Our room was small (as are all rooms in Europe), but perfectly arranged to maximize the space and was given a fresh look with the peppy colours and artwork. We collapsed on the bed and logged on to the free wifi to touch base with our families and we could not have been more pleased about the speed of the connection! We have had really bad wifi experiences at a few places so we where pretty thrilled to be able to get in touch with our families with ease.
The hotel offers room service, however I would suggest if you are able to, head down to the restaurant and have your dinner there. It not only saves you the additional room service charge, but also provides a wider menu option.
To ensure checkout the next morning will be smooth, we settled our dinner bill directly after we ate and reconfirmed out airport transfer. (we needed to leave around the same time as mosts guests the next morning, so we did not want to be delayed by masses of guests checking out)
Breakfast at Hotel Ibis is extremely busy, which off course is a great thing because that would mean the facility is full! Even though there were so many people it was easy for us to find a table as well as enjoy our first breakfast for the month ahead.
Our stay at the Hotel Ibis was just one night, but I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone.
Sadly we have no pictures of the hotel to share as we where so exhausted from the journey!
